I’m Usra, founder of Laya Creative Studio.

I started my career as a data scientist and project manager, drawn to structure, timelines, and solving problems. But creativity was always calling me back. Growing up with 30+ first cousins meant a childhood full of weddings and celebrations, where I naturally fell in love with the energy, detail, and beauty of it all. I was always collecting ideas, long before I realized it could become something more.

Planning my own wedding changed everything. Seeing a vision come together so intentionally and emotionally made me realize how much I loved creating experiences, not just managing them.

Since then, I’ve planned everything from weddings and dholkis to intimate home events and graduations, along with working on film sets in wardrobe and production, and styling countless brides. Each experience has shaped how I approach design with intention, feeling, and a strong sense of storytelling.

Laya Creative Studio is where it all comes together. A balance of structure and creativity, where ideas are thoughtfully brought to life. If I get to keep creating meaningful, beautiful moments, that’s more than enough for me.
